The Ultimate Tablet
As you probably know I am an Apple fanatic. I love their products and waited in line for over nine hours to get the iPhone 4. It comes as a shock to many that I don't have an iPad and really don't have any future plans to get one. This also comes as a shock to me, and I started thinking about why I have no intention to buy one.
After thinking about this for some time I came to the following conclusion: I don't need one. I love gadgets as much as the next guy but I just can't justify buying an iPad. When I'm away from my computer I have my iPhone, which handles email, web browsing, Facebook stalking and games. When I'm at home I have my laptop. The iPad is basically a giant iPhone in that it doesn't offer a fully featured operating system. If it were more like a computer I might be more inclined to buy one, but even still at that point my laptop is light enough to carry around, and it's a MacBook Pro that's over two years old!
To solve this problem I dreamed up "The Ultimate Tablet" which is a 4G tablet that when inserted into a desktop monitor or laptop shell that shell becomes the tablet. This would mean everything on my computer is always with me and everything I can do on my computer is always with me. Apple is getting close to this with the iMac looking monitors that are meant to plug into laptops and the iPad which is pretty powerful. I think if anyone can pull this off it's Apple.

Was the White iPhone 4 a Joke?
I was talking to a friend the other day and he asked a good question: "What the hell happened to the white iPhone? Was that just a big joke?" Seems like it was. I mean back in July Apple said "“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”
Now, I'm not a phone manufacturer, but how in the world is making something white more difficult than black? I mean they made the iPhone 3GS in white no problem. They have white iPods, white MacBooks, plenty of white going on at Apple, just no white iPhone 4. My iPhone 4 screen is smashed and I'm scared to buy a new one because they'll probably release the white one the day after. Come on Apple!
I mean, am I missing something here? Any guesses as to why this illusive white iPhone 4 seems to be just a dream?

As I'm sure you know the new iPhone 4 comes out tomorrow morning and the response so far has been amazing. Pre-orders were a disaster with servers crashing everywhere and canceled orders. It's going to be tough to get your hands on this one early.
I'm pretty excited about this launch for a few reasons. Mainly the faster performance and better battery life will make this phone a true beast. But also the HD video capabilities could prove to be a great tool for Zipvo (my real estate video startup) users. The retina display (aka better screen resolution) also sounds pretty cool.
Since I missed pre-orders and you couldn't get a white one by pre-ordering anyway, I'm going to the Apple store with a friend at 3 AM tomorrow morning. We're going to wait in line and try to track down the illusive white iPhone and hang out with other Apple enthusiasts.
